As always with the Top10 campgrounds, very clean, everything there (including heated pool, internet and BBQ).
Good location right behind the whale watch Kaikoura. Very recommendable!!

The jetboat ride was not so much fun, boring and we were frozen after 20minutes.
The canoe part was great and the crew was very friendly.

Amazing experience (even though it was raining).
Great guides that explained everything very well. It was stunning to be surrounded by only glacier and ice. Very recommendable!!

A nice walk with 2 swing bridges, however too many people around.
The track is well maintained, so good work from DOC as always.

Our Hitop campervan is a very new vehicle with less than 10,000km .
It has good basic equipment and is very comfortable to drive. So far (4 weeks) we had no troubles at all.
Hi Judith,
Thanks for your great review! Our Apollo Vehicles are 0-3 years old, we are now manufacturing these in NZ so newer vehicles are very common. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday, and we hope to see you again!
Kind regards

It is a good thing to do the Whale Watch trip in the morning, because usually the sea is calmer.
The team has a high knowledge about what they are doing and the whales are just fascinating.

Very clean, good location in that Catlins, unfortunately not many chairs and tables on the terrace outside.
We have now added them...

Not very modern but basic.
Big BBQ area outside. Often they do have groups or school classes there, which may be a bit annoying.
Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed our fantastic BBQ pavilion and area. Yes we have school groups here, mainly just week days from Oct-early Dec and Mid Feb-April. We emphasise to them that they are not the only guests in the Holiday Park and they all in all are very well behaved! They also tend to use either the BBQ pavilion or the Kitchen so one is always free! As reflected in a review above they are busy with their own activities and don't really get in the way!
Thanks again, we hope to see you back at Glentanner in the future.

With a watertaxi you can reach Ulva Island within 7 min from Stewart Island.
The walks are great (there are 3 different ones) you can see lots of birds in the bush/rainforest.

The tour was one of the highlights so far.
Roughly five hours were spent in the forest (19-24hrs) to look for a kiwi. Just before heading back we saw one, what a success! Small group and experienced guide.
This was a real tough trip, I still talk about it. I was just loading everybody into the van, we had not seen a bird ( pretty rare event ) then.....a pair called about 90 metres away. I ran off to locate the bird, everybody jumped out of the van to follow.
I heard the pair in the bush walking, then, one of them came out onto the track and ran up a little hill.
It crossed over, then called again. The other bird responded.
The group went from pretty disappointed to ecstatic in a matter of minutes !
