Would recommend for a rainy day but may look to Abel Tasman if weather is nice.

Harwoods Hole

Gorgeous hike from the trailhead, easy hiking.
Harwoods Hole is a very interesting site. Grand, very beautiful and a little eerie. Definitely worth the hike in, also recommend taking the trail to the view of the gorge. Worth the extra 20 minutes of hiking.

I ranked them highly due to the quality of the campervan and the multiple sites all throughout both islands.
More importantly however, they were willing to meet and accomodate us in the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquake even with us flying into Christchurch. Very quick to respond to reservation request.

Great rates $40NZD for a non powered site.
Good facilities, hot water, laundry, well landscaped with lots of greenery. Can get a bit crowded but often leads to good conversation.
