This 1 hour 45 min walk is a real mix of forest and engineering.
Not too busy. All stages of forestation. Some very uneven paths and in places narrow bridges.

Only way to end of Spit is by tour, this trip was 6 hours of information delivered with passion!
We loved it, Chris (owner/guide) is really knowledgeable, kids might get bored though.

This trip recommended by locals - less frantic than Milford but still stunning scenery/atmosphere.
Saw power station, dolphins, seals, albatross, very informative, this is expensive though - lunch should have been included.
