We enjoyed our stay here.
Even though apparently the camp ground was fully booked there was heaps of room and we chose a wee spot with a table and only had neighbours one night! So nice and private. Beautiful view out to sea as well. The toilets were clean but there was no hand soap so bring your own. The sunrise and sunset are apparently amazing but both were cloudy so we missed out. The only downfall of this campsite was that there were heaps of dogs running around off lead and nobody seemed to keep their dogs under control or near them. Our dog was happily tied up with us but it was annoying having lots of dogs come to visit him as we try and avoid on lead greetings. And a handy tip, bring your rubbish inside at night as ours was apparently delicious :)

We stayed in a non-powered site with our dog (he had to be on a lead at all times but he was happy to be tied up under a tree when we were at our site).
We had the option of staying on a beachfront site but had heard from a number of people that it can get very windy so we chose a site near the trees. Friendly staff and clean amenities. The only thing that detracted from this campground was the amount of trains and trucks (engine braking) going past (100km road) and aeroplanes flying over (whale watch tour operators is next door). So at times you felt you could barely hear the beach due to the traffic. The road noise continued during the night. We went for a hike up the the summit of Mt Fyffe which was great and only took 6hrs return (2hrs quicker than suggested). Lots of nearby things to do and Kaikoura is only 5min drive away.
