Were coming from kaikoura and weren’t going to arrive till 8.
Called ahead and they said we could pay in the morning and they’d leave a pass for us. Paid $25 for 2 unpowered. Had plenty of toilets and showers (free hot water). Also has kitchen facilities and dump station. Campsite was quite spacious also. Would expect to pay $40+. Very good value

Basic campground.
Tough to find off the highway. For certified self contained vehicles only. A park ranger came over at around 7pm seeing if everyone was certified. Everyone who wasn’t she told them they had to leave. We were self contained but weren’t sure if we had all the certifications because we were renting and she said it was fine with her but other rangers in other places may have an issue. Has drop toilets and that’s it. Close to the highway so a bit of noise at night. Will get relatively busy during peak periods

Awesome views!
DOC site so you will need cash. Paid $30 for 2. There is a shower at the nearby village that is $2 for 3 minutes of hot water. There is a restaurant there as well which is not too bad. The site fills up heaps during the day but most are busy there to hike and not use the campsite. Has basic facilities. Worth staying at for the great views of the snow capped mountains

Solid holiday park, good for families. Reception was very limited. Had decent toilet and shower facilities. Free hot water. Campsite was reasonably spacious

Pretty small campsites.
Very close to neighbours. Also paid $55 per night for an unpowered site for 2 people. However it was a very short walk to the centre of Queenstown which made it worth it. There were 10 cubicles and 10 showers for the men meaning you were very unlikely to have to wait.
