A wooden maze that takes you up and down stairs and around the bend.
Good old fashioned fun.

Choice of several well marked walks through the forest.
Not the wildest excursion, but very pleasant and we got to see a geyser erupting for good measure.

Worth paying just to see the Lady Knox Geyser blowing right on cue.
The walk through the other thermal area is beautiful and awesome in equal measure - don't mess with mother nature!

No facilities except toilets, but who cares when the site is this sweet and free!

Cute little tram which rattles you to the hill top where the views easily justify the cheap fare.
Stop off halfway up and you might be lucky enough to watch a cricket match at the trackside university ground.

Worth all the pain (and there is plenty).
A proper challenge but wonderfully rewarding. Incomparable views, volcanoes, lakes, forests, you name it, do it!!

Black labryinth tour through Waitomo Caves.
Hard to explain if you have not done it, it is so unlike anything else. Tubing through a cave illuminated by the magical blue lights of the glow worms. Mind blowing. And you get soup - what are you waiting for?
