Came here because of the previously high ranking.
Can’t say I agree. Although I appreciated kind owners, the clean facilities and unlimited WiFi, I found the parklinglot style Camping spaces close together, without a hint of privacy offering an underwhelming view amid a residential neighbourhood in an unremarkable town. Sorry, but for the price of $35-50 (only serviced spots here) I’ve seen better value. Wish I’d read a review like this before coming.

Piwiwiwi Campervan Rentals is outstanding on all fronts.
Communication and arrangements were clear, easy and straightforward. Nick is very congenial and knowledgeable regarding his campers and traveling with them in New Zealand. The van I rented is a newer model automatic in which I spent ten glorious days and nights. It is immediately apparent that much thought and care has gone into every detail when creating this comfortable home on wheels. So many in fact this list might seem long but frankly these are the difference makers when choosing a camping vehicle. (I’ve experienced a few !). The sleeping /seating cushions are more than comfortable, the perfect blend of softness and support. The curtains are attractive double fabric blackout and insulating. The galley is cleverly designed making use of and providing everything you need. Storage space is very ample without overlapping into living space, helping keep things organized and tidy. The inside is insulated providing surprising soundproofing also. I loved having the screened awning type windows on the upper roof walls. Great for venting even if it rained outside, which it didn’t. 😜. The toilet on board is cleverly tucked away but readily available making thins self contained camper Freedom Camp friendly, which you absolutely want camping in New Zealand. Other worthy mentions are the expansive interior height. Tall people will be sooo happy. The van drives really well especially with Nick’s tips on strategic usage of gears. The van (affectionately known as Hector) has plenty of ground clearance and big capable tires, steering and brakes A1. One thing, and Nick addresses this in his very detailed and helpful orientation, is the affect of wind on the van. It can, and will influence how you drive in windy conditions, but I easily adapted on the few occasions this occurred. Piwiwiwi was able to accommodate my desire to camp with a bike by providing both rack and bike. Would definitely rent again !
