Wow! Such a great place to stay.
Amenities are brilliant, everything you need & more. Great kitchen & a lounge area with enough room for everyone to enjoy. Definitely worth a stop in.

Beautiful place to stay, toilets were nice & clean.
Great day walks in stunning nature. No sink to clean dishes unless you use sink by the toilets so go prepared. Best way to protect from sandflies don't expose skin.

Nice smaller camping ground.
Great facilities, 2 kitchens with multiple benches, fridges, cookers etc. Multiple toliet & shower cubicles no extra charge for showers. Laundry, washing lines, tables, BBQs. Very well set up. $20pp per night. No bookings but get there early as gets busier later in the day. Walking distance to town & new bike trail out to pohara beach.

Canaan Downs Campsite

Basic campsite, 2 toliets but 1 was out of service while there.
Clean & not smelly. Water available (boil 1st). Very few wasps around, pest control doing a great job. Great walks & mountain biking. Gravel road in not too bad, did see some large campervans come in but not a lot if passing areas if someone coming the other way. Friendly weka's (please don't feed them). Only 2 other overnight campers but was middle of the week. Watch out for the mosquitoes at night.
