Absolutely stunning campground a short 15 min walk over the hill from the ferry wharf.
Water but must be boiled before drinking. Cafe beside wharf has water during open hours. (Closes 8pm).
Great snorkelling off the beach, we saw squid and octopus. Amazing walks and good bird life on the island. Lots of sheep around the campsite. Cold outdoor showers. Poor cell reception from campground. Not too busy start of Feb on a weekend.

Beautiful spot near the end of the peninsula, we stayed here in perfect weather on the grass sites at the back which were really quiet end of Jan mid week.
Awesome beach, nice short walks nearby, really friendly and helpfu staff. Good longdrop toilets and cold showers. Drinking water.
No where particularly close to buy food.

Great free spot for a night by the caves.
Place filled up end of Jan but not over crowded. No cell reception. Good serviced toilets and cold outdoor shower.
Caves were mind blowing - wear shoes to get wet and a torch. You can go in quite far to the caves. they get quite narrow but really amazing rock shapes. Glow worms aren’t in too far at all.

Great little campground, stayed two nights in Late Jan.
Each site is in its own little bush patch. Not many with grass but pegged into the dirt ok. Clean toilets and cold showers.
A little confusing on the Rankers listing: this is the West Bay jetty campground, and the West Bay Buller campground is basically the same campground but more like an overflow a few minutes walk down the road and further from the jetty.
Heaps of sandflies but with repellant and ignoring the swarms you get used to it. Good bird life around and eels by the jetty. Stunning scenery.
