This is a beautiful campsite, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, glacial streams, waterfalls and lakes, and a walkable indigenous forest.
We stayed here the night before our trip to Milford which was ideal as we had the roads (and free parking at Milford) to ourselves.
We did the short walk through the forest and swam in the (chilly) stream whilst the sun was out. Highly recommended!
Basic but adequate ablutions were available.

We loved this campsite!
Wonderfully remote with spectacular views. We parked off up the hill, beyond the shelter and had the place to ourselves- divine!
Ablution facilities were not great and the sandflies were a nuisance in the evening. The location of this campsite makes up for it all though!

We were there just before New Year so the place was packed!
We were accommodated for but missed out on a powered site. Ablution facilities were kept clean which was impressive considering the volume of people! Water and cooking facilities were easily available but $50 for two people seemed a bit too much for a non-powered site and located right on top of other campers.
We escaped to the Lake for a bit which was the best part!
