What a fantastic find for somewhere to relax and enjoy life away from the pressures of always on connectivity.
Camping amongst the bush with no cell reception or WiFi was just the wind down we (and the tweenager) needed! The tuis, moreporks, possums, cicadas, cows and goats are all the soundtrack you need.
Jo and the team do an awesome job of maintaining the family-run site. The kitchen, BBQs, toilets, and showers are all immaculate and very well provisioned. The cabins, too, are kept to a very high standard with lovely crisp linens and nice little design touches in each.
There's plenty to do to while away the time. Go for a wander up to Fossil Canyon and see the wild horses, wander along the railway line and through the tunnels that are only used by converted golf carts, or simply chill in the river. There are lots of other walks of caring lengths, and Whangamomona and Mount Damper Falls are only half an hour away.
There are also lots of sandlies - up its good to pack the repellant!
What a gem, we'll be back.

Beautiful campsite and views.
Plenty of mature planting to break the site up and give you some shade. All the basics are covered with attention to detail and hot showers are included. There are no powered pitches and there wasn't enough water to to up tanks when we were there, so just plan accordingly. For a quiet site in a beautiful natural setting its great.
