Moeraki is our favourite place in NZ and this campsite did not disappoint.
Lovely powered pitch with views over the bay. Kitchen, showers, toilets and laundry all well equipped and well kept. Kids were delighted with the trampoline and climbing bars. The owners are absolutely lovely. Perfect location for Fleur’s Place, lighthouse, boulders etc. We stayed two nights but could have happily stayed for a week. (PS. Highly recommend The Fishwife shack - incredible!)

Great for kids.
1A is a powered site right next to the playpark. Big kitchen area with indoor and outdoor dining areas. 3 washing machines and 2 dryers plus outside washing lines. Just outside Hanmer Springs which meant a lovely 8km running loop from the campsite and around the town. We would definitely recommend.

Our first campsite on a month-long campervanning holiday.
Very busy (as expected for time of year). Rather brusque woman doing check in, not very welcoming. No dump station. Decent fish & chips. Campsite seemed expensive for the area and you have to pay for showers on top. The small play park across the road was good for the kids; just beware of the biting insects! Nice trail along the water’s edge for a morning jog.

Stayed here 4th Jan.
Arrived 3pm and got the last parking spot. Don’t be confused by the green patch of grass - that is the helipad! The parking bays are beside the picnic tables. Certainly a popular site - probably 30-40 campers arrived after us but had to move on. Sheltered stony beach with floating platform 150m from shore for an easy swim. Single toilet clean and with toilet paper. Felt very lucky to stay here - especially as it was my birthday!

Nice spot albeit pretty remote (20 mins off the main road) and it seems you only go here if you want to fish.
There were quad bikes zooming around after 9pm and again at 6am which was annoying as we had young kids trying to sleep. Main gripe is that we were overcharged - should have been $15 for a non powered site but we were charged $21. Only realised after we’d left and it’s too far out the way for us to return for a refund.
