Well located in a nice little forest between Rotorua and Tauranga.
Clean flush toilets, drinking water and a BBQ Area (but didnt use them since they were dirty). Lots of space for ~20 campervans, pretty quiet. Would stay here again!

Was ok for one night.
Right next to a street and a skate park so it can get noisy. Flush toilets close by. We then went to i-Site to have a shower there for 2$ pp.

Even though it was just a car park, we really liked it there.
Other campervans around you, Walking distance to town, toilets and public showers to pay in walking distance. We spent New Years Eve there.

Good location when you want to do the Crossing, they offer a shuttle for the track.
But one night is enough. There is no signal for the phone and wifi costs 10$/250MB. Kitchen is pretty small and there is too many people at the same time. Ovens didnt work and some top plates didnt work either coz there was no gas.

Might be a bit noisy coz it‘s right next to the main street but it‘s ok for a night.

Lovely place!
Nice owner, clean facilities, hair dryer available, kitchen a bit small though, the rest was perfect! Paid 40$ for two people for a non powered site.

Very nice manager, clean amenities, kitchen and community area well equipped, with BBQ.
Not too big so more like a family campsite. Lots of info brochures with things to do in the area or Milford Sound etc.

Gets packed early, book ahead!
We were lucky to get a site but just for one night.
Spacious kitchen with ovens etc. Clean toilets and showers, but no hairdryer.
A lot of people around, maybe due to high season.

New Name: Orange Sheep!
Self Check in easy but personal touch is missing. You feel like in the jungle, a lot of humidity. Toilets and showers are not enough for so many people, and also not very clean...just Little space to eat, not a real kitchen, no equipment to use.
Hi Fran
I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay and we were not what you were looking for. We wanted to leave as much native forest (jungle) on the site as possible, both because it's the right thing for the environment and to give guests privacy and shade. I appreciate being surrounded by native forest is not what everyone wants (we do have some sites next to the pond that are far more in the open). We have tried to provide the essentials at an affordable price, this means the team is generally out cleaning rather than in reception (at busy times as you have seen we need to clean 3 times a day as a small number of guests like to leave a real mess, I am sorry you experienced this). We are always happy to take any questions by phone and also located opposite the visitor centre if people have general questions. We hope the rest of your trip went well.
