Been camping on the DOC pass for a week, passed through Franz Josef and a closed road brought us here, and how good!
$34 for 2 in a van, amazing spaces, toilets, showers, both clean as, and a kitchen if you need it. We cooked at our campsite style table for our van spot anyway. After our west coast bug adventures we were happy to spend some money and we think you should too! It seems there’s new owners here who are really trying to make this place special. Definitely get around it, 10/10 recommended to all.
Side note, get your fresh water from here, glacial water that you’ll want to tip out your beer for!

We spent the day at Kerr Bay Campsite, super nice, retired here as our campsite pass was included.
2 long drop toilets with sanitizer. No fresh drinking water so boil/bring your own. Nice spot, would be nicer in winter with the ice skating pond. Saw an eel in that pond so check it out anyway. MTB trails looked the goods.

Great spot, Parked up under the trees.
Pebble beach, cold showers and clean toilets. DOC host was lovely, told us about the glow worms and the pirate style cove around the corner, made the night stay even better. Nice and quiet, was a great first night in a DOC site
