This was the only campsite in NZ that I would give negative feedback about (of 6 we stayed in).
In their description the "new" owners say they took over in 2016 but I find it hard to see what they have actually done in 3 years. The place still looks so run down and in need of TLC. The location has so much potential and the basic structures are there - but getting worse not better in shape. They say they are "low cost" but they are not NZ$45 for two people in a campervan on a powered site is not "low cost" compared to other campsites which offer so much more. I cannot recommend this site and would suggest people look elsewhere until dramatic changes are made.

Amazing place like a hidden gem!
Beautiful clean facilities with great local walks. Relax in the spa afterwards such a treat.
Thanks for the great comments! Glad you enjoyed our facilities and sounds like you enjoyed your soak in the pools too.

Beautiful landscaped site set back from main road so very little noise.
Located near a large supermarket (Countdown) for buying supplies. Easy 15 minute walk into town - we took scenic route via Parana Park and Soldiers Memorial Gardens. Plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes in the main street to choose from. Friendly staff were really helpful about route to take the next day. We had a campervan that was leaking after heavy rain so we stayed in a cabin - but shared common facilities which were clean and functional. Would definitely recommend to others wanting to stay in the Hamilton CBD area.

One of the better campsites we experienced and with the special deal offered of NZ$18 per person it was also a very reasonable price.
Located not far from the airport means that you do occasionally get the noise from low flying aircraft - but they are commuter traffic arriving at 3 main times with workers and tourists! The facilities were great - clean and functional. The campsite wasn't full - it is large and roomy - so although Rotorua is a tourist destination it still didn't feel crowded. There are shops nearby if you need supplies and the main commercial centre is a short drive down the road. We were very happy with the setup and facilities and I would recommend the site to anyone who doesn't want to be located right in the centre of town.
