Huge grassy field not to far from the main road and all paved roads leading to it.
We were one of 3 groups there so had plenty of space to ourselves! Nice toilet block but grass is quite long so if it rains everything gets wet!!

Nice campsite by the beach - good facilities close to every section as the whole complex is huge.
$20 pp for unpowered and sites are right beside the open beach front, so you feel the full force of the wind if camping. Otherwise a nice place to stay that is not a tourist trap

Loved this campsite - it is cheap and cheerful with good clean bathroom facilities for an evening or two there.
There is not much else in the areaso be prepared to stay on site and bring your own food/water! Plenty of options to set up under - shade, sun, away from wind etc. An easy drive to Christchurch, Akaroa or anywhere south

Really great Campsite with fantastic uoto date facilities!
The staff were extremely helpful in suggesting a site best for a tent avoiding wind and rain (forecast for the evening). Standard price for Kaikoura but worth the penny for the hospitality and facilities received. Location is just about walkable into the town centre too - around 25 mins

Great cheap camping spot right by the lake.
Basic facilities but fantastic views made up for it! Get there early to make sure you get a spot - it fills up quickly

Loved this campsite, it is right by the beach and facing west so as long as the night is clear you get a cracking sunset!
Powered sites are by the kitchen area and unpowered is across the road on a grassy reserve, both equally as good!! Excellent price and a beautiful location! The beach is covered in old dead trees - watch your feet!!!! Paid through an honesty box in tge kitchen area

Nice free campsite with stunning views of the mountains beside a lake.
Drop toilets were the cleanest we have come across but make sure you bring your own water. If pitching a tent, stay away from the bank of the lake, if it rains the grass bank is prone to getting a bit wet! We set up on the upper section by some trees to act as a wind break, which worked a treat.

Loved this as a free campsite!
Lots of people continued to arrive late in the evening hit as long as you don't mind a slightly smaller space to camp/park this place is perfect for an evening or two! It has portaloos and is close proximity to hula falls (free hot pools) and the town

Lovely campsite with plenty of site space for a tent/camper.
Good facilities - BBQ ran out of gas and the owners very kindly replaced the cannister immediately so we could cook dinner. Reasonably priced and excellent access to the beach. The town itself is gorgeous with a couple of local very friendly bars!
