Very good here.
Stopped in car park and someone came out to greet us. Camped on grass near hedge. water supply in centre of area and one electric supply box with 8 sockets. Very friendly, invited to walk around course at our leisure. Would give this a 10 but facilities not so good. We simply used our own and would be very happy to go back here. All this for 10NZD which you put on an envelope and leave in letter box.

Really lovely place to camp.
We did not use the facilities so can not comment. Wonderful views. Only two vans there. Can not mark this higher owing to pesky flies. Provided you are ok with them, then this is worth the longish trip along gravel road. We did begin to wonder if we would find it, but it is just a little way past the boys brigade private campsite on your right.

As others have said, very cramped and facilities not very good.
But, this site is just for an overnight stop for the morning ferry. They could space the vans out more, but that would mean fewer sites available and it was fully booked when we arrived. We were surprised to find we were not disturbed by traffic noise and had reasonably quiet night. You certainly would not come here for a long term stay, but it does serve a purpose, so why complain. Staff at reception very friendly and helpful. You can catch a bus into the city from end of driveway. We walked to Countdown supermarket in 20 minutes. What more can you want?

Typical Top 10 park.
We stayed here one night on our way south. Felt the man on reception was a little sarcastic because we declined to pay extra for a site overlooking the mud flats (sorry, beach). Far too expensive compared to some other places we have used.

Heading for Napier, but had a long drive so decided to look at this as a stop over.
Fantastic situation by the river. Very peaceful. Just make a donation in the honesty box. Can not comment on the toilets as we used our own, but there was a warning that the water supply was from the river so would need boiling. Only a few people here. Next day we decided to turn left out of the site and continue along Waikara road. This becomes a gravel road and is a real mountain track. Took us ages to reach SH2, but was well worth the effort for the magnificent views. We also found the Kiwi Creche and spent an hour looking round there. Can certainly recommend this asa quiet, peaceful stop over.

Excellent site.
Very quiet. Only a few minutes walk to shops and four square supermarket. Water available, dump station, toilets (ok we preferred to use own in campervan, but ok if you need them) Floodlit most of the night. All this for free, just give a donation of 5NZD. We had spent the previous night at a Top 10 park, which was expensive and we preferred this.

Came here in preference to the DOC site up the road.
Only a little more expensive here with much better facilities.

Bit of a drive to get here along a gravel mountain road, but well worth the effort.
Owner came out to greet us and helped guide me to reverse into a slightly narrow space. Just 15NZD for the unit as selr contained without use of any of the facilities. Consideted this a bargain. There are some magnificent views from here. c
Can not comment on facilities as we did not use them. Owner very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this site provided you are happy with a farm site and the mountain track.
