Well worth the long gravel road drive.
Good facilities - kitchen, common room, verandah ( good spot for some yoga) hot showers and laundry facilities ( need coins for both). Not many campers so very quiet. Walk to beach for sunset, very windy at beach but treated to seal pups playing in the pools. Staff friendly and helpful. Cafe on premises but we did not use. Horses, ducks and peacock roaming the grounds.
Thank you for your review. The horses are now re-farmed. The ducks are wild - flown in on an exceptional windy patch and seemed to have liked what they found. Management.

Nice place to stop at the beach, easy to find, busy with lots of vans.
Single toilet and tap, recycle bins. Lots of driftwood on beach - great for a walk if not too windy. Council worker there in morning to clean very helpful

Great waterfront spot to spend the night.
Signage of where to park not that clear but lots of other vans there so we just parked between them. Nice to walk along water front and easy walk to shops including supermarket and great bar D4 with fast wifi. Booked ferry tickets for next day there through direct ferries and was surprised by almost $70 in free meal vouchers to use during trip. Train station close good spot to park and train into Wellington. Toilets a stroll away.

Good value to camp and unlimited use of thermal pools until close then able to access again early am before opening.
Busy site, kitchen facilities ( hot plate took a long time to cook on), laundry facilities, drying room and hot showers and toilets. Great place to unwind after long day of driving. Food available to purchase from cafe a bit expensive and not that great.

Great place to stay, friendly, accommodating staff.
Called ahead as going to arrive late - Mary Jane said no problem. Ended up staying 2 nights as was such a relaxing place to chill. Easy walk to town. Watched rugby World Cup at local pub. Make sure you try the pies at the bakery and you can get a great meal at Carnegie’s all within walking distance. Good tracks for walking and bike riding. Laundry and good kitchen facilities. Value for money
