Large campground wit many sites.
Good clean facilities. No extra items in kitchen but you can hire stuff. Showers are hot. Laundries have too few working machines. Considering the camp was not busy when we stayed we had a long wait for a washing machine and dryer. Sites are flat and convenient for most facilities.

Ok site with older facilities.
Bathrooms ok though hard to tell if the showers were occupied or not. Tired kitchen but serviceable enough. Convenient location after flying to the airport.

Very disappointing site.
We paid a lot more than the DOC sites for little more!. Kitchen has one stove and only 1 element worked. Reception was not particularly interested but it was important for us to cook up a few meals before going to more remote spots. Dryer took my money and never did a thing. Didn't bother going back to reception again. One of us had a cold shower and one a hot shower. Place feels dejected and in need of upgrading. Would not return.

Site is in a nice spot and has reasonable amenities.
Its further from town centre than the Rankers info implies (1km to main street - didn't mention another 3km to centre). Kitchen needs extractor fans ( which would also help with the "old" odour in the amenity block) and better configuration. A stove between 2 fridges is a hard spot up cook in a busy kitchen. Bathrooms good, clean and hot showers without timers.

This is an experience, not just a campsite.
The oosthaus is brilliant plus the facilities are great. Hot showers, nice sinks. Apart from the oosthaus there are plenty of other bathrooms around so not need to wait. We walked the entire site and we're surprised and delighted by the creativity. The kitchen we used was ok. The long bench table is too close to the stoves and we had lots of times getting bumped and in other people's way. Easy walk to town from here. A bit on the expensive side but ok as a one off on a trip.

We loved this spot.
Quiet, flat sites and a toilet ! Cheap and we don't begrudge paying for DOC sites at this price. Shame others freeload and expect others to pay for them.

Very basic kitchen and ablutions but all you need at a great price. Kiwi camping as it was.

Great wee spot.
Not huge but that's part of the appeal and guests seem to be friendlier. On tank water so showers on coins to keep them brief. I support this. Kitchen good enough with extra equipment too - always handy. Good advice about when to see local wildlife so we're pleased to experience the area. Nice and quiet and would have stayed longer if we had more time
