A beautiful location on the coast.
We walked along the beach, swam and enjoyed the sun. And after contacts with locals we decided not to go (again) to the tourist toppers (where many take a selfie), but to taste the many other highlights of the Coromandel. And we enjoyed it very much!

First brought by shuttle from the Wharariki Beach Holiday campsite to the Farewell Spit café.
Hence a beautiful daywalk along the varied coast. The last part is for experienced hikers. One of our top walks on the South Island.

We wanted to be the first to see the sun rise on our earth.
For that you have to go to the East Cape. We spent the night seven kilometers from the lighthouse. It was raining and storming. Got up early. Made the walk with 800 steps to the lighthouse. EIt was 11.2.2019 and almost 6.31. The rain stopped and the sun slowly rose above the horizon. A special experience that we experienced with three others. For gourmets!

We enjoyed "our" Sunrise campervan for six weeks.
The freedom to be able to camp on the grid was an important reason to choose Sunrise. The personal contacts both during the preparation of our trip and during the period that we were in NZ were great! Certainly after a minor accident, Nathan provided excellent guidance. We would like to travel with Sunrise again.
Kia Ora Geertje and Rein, thanks for your nice review. All our campervans are well set up for freedom camping, mush better than most which is just how we like them. Minor incidents can happen on tour, I am glad that we were able to get you sorted and back on the road so quickly without to much impact to your adventure. All the best, regards Nathan and the Sunrise team.

What a lovely relaxed place and what an inspiring Don, the owner.
We enyoyed it end of January a lot. Nice places next to the river. We took more then one bath and the organic garden was with surprises. In case we make again a trip to NZ we sure will visit Koha and Don again!
