Beautiful camping spot!
Hardly anyone around. Amazing sunset and sunrise. So close to Christchurch! We loved this spot. Getting in the gate was difficult, code didn’t come in for 5 hours after we booked online (it said it was supposed to within an hour) the lovely DPC worker on site let us in the gate when we got a hold of her. But don’t expect to show up and get in immediately!

The best feature this place is it’s location, being so close to town.
Otherwise, we were not impressed. It really is a car park. We were parked very close to other campers on both sides, feeling a bit confined. I wouldn’t call them “child friendly” based on their play areas. And they don’t allow you to have a late checkout. We’ve stayed better places, but if you’re looking for somewhere right in Queenstown, this is convenient.

Loved camping here!
Not many others around. The gravel road there wasn’t in bad shape. The stars were beautiful reflecting on the lake at night! Very quiet and peaceful!

Great stop.
Very close to Avalanche Peak hike! The road and train were not too loud to disrupt sleep. Very close to walk in the village! Beautiful area!

Really nice stop.
The pizza at the restaurant was really yummy! Laundry worked well here. Amazing free WiFi. Bathrooms weren’t the nicest we’ve seen and showers didn’t have benches (which is really helpful).

Great little stop!
Only room for 5 or so. No toilets. But the stars are beautiful at night and mountains beautiful in the morning! Turn off is right past the guardrail coming from Te Aneu, no signs indicating camping.
