Really a parking lot for the falls.
Not a place that we wanted to sleep BUT we walked to the bottom of the water fall which was a nice little walk to break up our day of traveling.

Marsden Bay Reserve

Over all one of the best freedom camping spots.
It seems to be far from Hwy 1 but it really isn't. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful bay that's good for swimming, good play ground and good toilets. Large flat parking lot right next to the water, play ground and toilets.

Very busy.
Get there before dinner to get a spot and squeeze into one of the five spots available in a parking lot. A beautiful wild beach is on the other side a small sand dunes. Lovley cafe that closes at 3pm. Be careful of grumpy hotel owner/manager next door who feels he has the authority over the freedom campers.
