Pretty good place !
Space for approximately 20 vans. Toilets are clean.
You feel a bit like on a carpark and not on a beach but it’s still better than nothing !

Better not have a van bigger than a car or you would block the entire carpark.
3 really small spots... Looks nice but couldn’t stay as our van was too big and two other small vans were already there.

Best place we’ve stayed in NZ so far.
This is why you rent a campervan !
We spent two nights there, on our way down to Queenstown and our way back up north. We chose two different spots (you can basically camp wherever you want on the east side of the lake, unless notified so) and both where amazing.
Beautiful view of sunrise and sunset. Incredible stargazing at night !
Only stayed with other campervan/motorhome (no « self-declared » self-contained car...).

Too bad it’s a carpark, if it was let’s say a big grassy area where everyone can park however he wants, the place would be my ideal freedom campsite !
You have clean toilets, an outdoor shower, a dump station.
View on the ocean (if you are there early enough to get a spot facing the ocean) is priceless. Cherry on the cake, if you got your surfboard, waves were firing the other day !

Not bad !
Pretty busy, we got the last spot at 4pm !
You’re close to the city, the spots are pretty large so you’ve got space around you, toilets 2min away, I’ve seen worse !

For that price...come on...you can do better !
Spots are really small, and I’m sorry but having a hole to put your waste water hose on your site is the minimal required when you ask 60$ for the night !

Big carpark, loads of spots for everyone else.
I would say we were more than 30 vehicles to stay the two night we stayed (on our way to Milford and back).
We are SC and in a campervan so no need for everything but as a NSC or in a small van you’ll be pleased to find drinking water, super clean facilities, a sink to do your dishes and tables to eat.
A great move from Lumsden !

If there’s only 10 vehicles, it could be fine...
but when you are 15 to 20, the place is a little bit less interesting. Especially when there is cars in which people sleep...
But still, it’s better than nothing and you’re close to the beach which is nice.
