Amazing views of Lake Wakatipu with the surrounding snow peaked mountains out every window.
Arrive right at 5 if you want a spot on the water. We got here at 5:15 and 5/6 waterfront spots were taken. Room for another ~8 campers with views of the mountains and bush. Please re-open the rest of the lot!

Freedom camping at its best!
Favourite site so far in NZ, and will be tough to beat. Pick from several gravel paths down through the pines towards the lake. We were lucky enough to get our own private spot near the power plant with incredible views of the bright blue Lake Pukaki and snow capped Mt. Cook in the distance. Long drop toilet 5mins up the road by the intersection in the viewpoint car park.

Amazing view looking down the valley towards Queenstown.
Plenty of space for 20+ campers but arriving early will guarantee you a spot right on the edge of the cliff overlooking the valley.
