We stayed June 2020.
Free, quite picturesque spot with clean toilets. Pub, fish and chip shop and petrol station with a good shop attached are all across the road. Great stop off for us on the way to Coromandel after picking up our campervan in Auckland.

Lovely quiet little campsite 10 mins inland off the main coastal road through Tapu.
Beautiful spot next to the river,
Very clean and tidy facilities (showers and toilets, didnt check out the kitchen), & friendly helpful owner.
We paid $35 for a powered site 2 adults, a child and a dog in June 2020.

A very beautiful camping spot right on the lake.
Loads of space, all pretty flat and quiet when we stayed- around 10 other campers but such a huge site we weren't cramped in. Two drop loos were very clean and had toilet paper! Also had a good covered space for eating/preparing food and plenty of rubbish bins. No water or dump station, but not a problem if you come prepared! Would definitely stay here again.
