Great place with only two other freedom campers tonight.
Unbelievable!any of the other places north of here were already at capacity. Looks like this place could accommodate about 30 self contained units if everybody parks according to the rules. Nice grass, super views, gorgeous sunset, a bit breezy, and unbelievably quiet. Clean restroom and trash bins available. Love it!

Excellent site fairly close to Napier.
I stayed two nights maiy because of a nasty weather threat which didn't really materialize. Went for two 50+ kilometer road bike rides. Being able to take an outdoor shower is such a big plus after such rides. Had front row parking with view of the sea. Can toilets, dumpstation, potable water. No noise issues. Not a 10 because of the lack of "nature."

You need to go past where there is this dedicated Freedom Camping spot, about another 2 miles / 3 K.
A local told me about it. Lntknje on the azphLyed road which at the end makes a 180 degree U-turn. Continue another 500 meters and there is a toilet house. Beware of deep sad, but there are formally areas. For self-contained vehicles only. Two ean toilets, no water. Nobody else amled here why the site identified here probably had 10 campers in a tiny space that has no toilets. Locals. One here to exercise their dogs, BTW.

Got here early, around 12:30 pm and snagged the last of only three spots.
No shade, so your vehicle will be in the sun all day. Never mind. Looks across some asphalt on the lake. Can restroom s maybe a 150 to 200 meter walk. Curious why Rotorua doesn't offer more Freedom Camping.
