Long drop toilets generAlly ok but lots of flies one day.
Beautiful location
Gravel road bumpy but ok in a van
Lots of sheep around (sheep safari vibe) , big spaces and lovely rural setting. Taps and covered area but no “kitchen” Perhaps not lots of facilities for 13$pp but beautiful secluded location

Nice new shower block and not too far from lake tekapo.
Kitchen was good but was busy when we stayed. Slightly confusing spaces but enough room. Good place to stop off on a longer journey.

Good showers (dollar needed) but took a bit of time to warm and toilet block (new) , kitchen dated but functional.
Very convinient for Roy’s peak
Big spaces and nice lakeside location
Friendly staff and big big campsite

Great value.
Basic long drop toilet plus running water and sink so for the money very goood! Some pitches on seafront but would need to get there early as it was busy when we stayed

Lots of yummy blackberries to pick!
Good campsite - basic but nice
8$pp per night
Clean fairly new toilet block plus drinking water right next to main area of campsite (no walk)
No shower or hot water but stream v nearby
Can do walks from campsite but over the stream so shoes will get wet!
Crickets were very noisy which can’t be helped !
Park ranger came daily about 8
Some of the area is a bit sloped/ not shaded. Wasn’t too busy when we stayed which meant only 2 toilets was fine but can imagine if when near capacity (says can fit 150 not quite sure how) could feel a bit cramped
Overall v good value and only half an hour into wellington /theferry

30 dollars a night for two people in powered spot right on the waterfront GREAT value !!!
Stayed two nights because it was so good
Right on the lake- beautiful skies and can paddle our far (shallow) , good shower block with warm showers and plenty of space. Kitchen v small and not much in it which didn’t matter too much for us. 20 min plus drive to main attractions in rotarua but this was fine and also meant no sulphur smell!

Beautiful spot - very homely and super super showers (hot, clean and like a real bathroom-no bugs!).
Great dog and friendly host.
Outdoor kitchen and lots of table/hammocks. Van space is gravel driveway but as there is a shared grassy area this is fine!
Need cash to pay (can do PayPal but small charge)
Lovely , friendly atmosphere :)

But facilities are clean, new and well maintained - water and sinks inside and new toilets (toilet paper but no soap) and did get quite busy between campsite and walkers.
Essentially a car park and not great deal of space between each van
Excellent location to start all of the walks there.
Overall really great location but given no showers/soap/small spaces felt more in line with the 8$ campsites

Beautiful location , big grassy field surrounded by trees.
Lots of flat spots. No phone signal!! Toilets well maintained. Lots of bees and flies. Nice walkways but sadly stream was all dry when we visited. Only 4 other vans there with us and plenty of space.

Nice spot with a stream and mountain views.
Big well stocked kitchen with room for lots of people. Good big bathroom (with hairdryer!) , some variability in shower temperature but generally good (there was also a bath!!)
46$ for two people powered van per night
Near the tongarario visitor centre which was interesting. Shuttle to the crossing was at 7/8/9am from the campsite and cost 40dollars per person return
Great campsite with good facilities, a little on the expensive side but great for before and after the crossing plus other little walks to do from the site.

Very clean and new (but because of this not a great deal of “charm”) our space was roomy but some looked a bit less so.
Good kitchen and toilets and bar nearby had good happy hour and food looked good. V near to water taxis etc.

Great hot showers (but extra money on an already higher end cost) and well stocked shop.
Nice spot by the lake but is near the road - not too noisy though

$36 unpowered van spot two people one night, friendly and chatty staff, new puppies!
And other animals nearby, 25 min walk to the caves. Great facilities- clean loos and showers , very well stocked kitchen, small enough to have friendly backpaper vibe but spaces still big enough for privacy. Very nice ! Not loads of van spots so probably worth ringing ahead in busy season. Also has an outdoor pool!

5 mins drive to ocean beach - hilly drive but beautiful sandy beach with big waves !
25$ a night for unpowered use of spot (2 people) - usually 40 a night but we chose not to use the power so we’re charged less
Trevor was a great host- friendly and laid back atmosphere
Only one other van when we stayed felt rural and private
Two shower/toilet rooms - one with better shower than the other No kitchen but sink with hot water to wash up in attached to toilet block
20 mins to havelock north where we rented bikes from
Overall basic but rustic charm and great value for money :)

Excellent location but very small spaces for a big price!!
5 minutes walk into the centre of town so very handy and we stayed two nights
Shower block clean , new and hot water plentiful!
Kitchen was spacious but very slow to heat hobs and no shared kitchenware which considering the cost I would expect.

Big campsite- quite a few large groups staying too but lots of toilets/shower , kitchen was v busythough.
Short walk to beach (we and others there didn’t actually manage to source the hot water.. but space hire from campsite was 5$ and still quite fun) nice private and spacious tent/van spot. 42$ two people unpowered van - overall great facilities and everything you need but as expected quite a touristy atmosphere given a chain resort next to a tourist attraction.
Hi Tash & Laura,
We are sorry you did not access the hot water on the beach. The hot water springs on the beach are only accessible 2 hours before and after low tide. We do provide a variety of accommodation from a motel through to unpowered sites, to satisfy the needs of all travellers. We do go quiet in winter which is an awesome time to visit as - we are a tourist attraction and a traditional holiday venue.
Kind Regards
Lynette

Great location near to hot pools and glacier tours.
Great bar with lots of drink offers in the evening (6$ drinks) , nicely presented but very small spaces and they fit a lot of people in!! Hot tub and sauna both small and sauna wasn’t working when we went. Toilet and kitchen small but clean.

Near to new chums beach (drive) which was great!
Nice field to have the van in and good kitchen/loos, maybe a little bit expensive for basic campsite/unpowered but friendly staff and relaxed :) 40 dollars for one night two people in an unpowered spot

Good DOC spot.
Lovely lake with ducks :). No running water at all so make sure you fill up. Only one long drop toilet which was clean but maybe not quite enough for number of guests as was fairy full when we stayed. Half hour from Arthur’s pass and plenty of walks to do
