- Lack of privacy because the spots are right next to each other - feels like a parking lot.
- Showers included, but not very clean.
- Kitchen isn't fully equipped and most of the stuff was dirty.
+ River is awesome.
+ Staff is very friendly.
>> Payed 34$ for 2 people - would have expected more.

Wouldn't stay here again, because we stayed in our tent and the sites are located next to the highway and it was terrible noisy the whole night.
Even earplugs did not help. Sad though, because the hosts are lovely and the facilities are clean and well kept.

Plus: Friendly receptionist, lots of space to pitch a tent.
Kitchen is fully equipped.
Minus: Facilities are not very well maintained nor clean. Use the bathroom in block 7, the other block is pretty old and uncomfortable! Payed 19$ per person per night, which is overpricey. Atmosphere reminds me of a neglected ghost town.

Don't miss this place!
Stayed 2 nights at an unpowered sight (20$ per person per night) and enjoyed it very much. Lots of locals and fishermen stay here. Great atmosphere, lovely relaxed place, very friendly and helpful hosts. Don't miss the beautiful sunset (benches just across the street), 10min walk to a sand beach. The camp offers a small shop, common room with billiard, board games, TV, comfortable sofas, well equipped kitchen, barbeque shelter, fish cleaning area, fish smoker, boot charters.

Stayed here for one night in late February.
Together with more than 100 other caravans, tents or motorhomes. Therefore very noisy - and expect noise from the main road too! Only 3 flush toilets for the whole campground, 2 sinks for doing dishes, water from the tap is available but you have to boil it before drinking. Overpriced.

One of the most pleasant campgrounds we have been to in New Zealand.
Full equipped kitchen, hot showers, laundry/dryer. Recommend to all.

Don't miss this place!
Stayed 2 nights at an unpowered sight (14$ per person per night, 2$ for shower, 3$ for laundry, free wifi) and enjoyed it very much. Great atmosphere, lovely relaxed place, very friendly and helpful stuff. The lodge offers board games, TV, comfortable sofas and a big and well equipped kitchen.
And don't miss the Cafe, which is part of the campground! Excellent food, music and service, homegrown vegetables (loved the tomatoes).
All in all: Highly recommended, A++++++.

Very very crowded place.
Need to be there early, to get a comfortable spot.

Big Holiday Park in walking distance to the Waitaki river.
Stayed for one night and had a quite spot next to the Aquarium. Nice little lounge, good kitchen facilities (microwave, fridge, sinks..), little river beach. When you stay in a tent, you are likely to hear some noise from the road.

Quite green DOC campground surrounded by a beautiful forrest and the Catlin River.
Close by is only farmland, you can hear cows and sheep and lots of birds (spotted a tui) - no traffic noise. 2x2 flush toilet, water from the tap (boil it before drinking). No showers, or electricity - self check-in (8$ per person per night). Best to take drinking water with you.
