It’s free… That’s the only cool thing about this place.

Bunch of hooligans living out of their cars blasting shitty EDM music into the wee hours of the night.

    7th December 2023.

Nice location, road is pretty quiet and very scenic beside a river. Big car park, space for around 20 campers. No fees and allows non self contained. The toilets are very smelly, most people were avoiding them because of the smell. The rooster was good entertainment and will wake you up early in the morning

Nice spot with a long drop next to the river unfortunately the parking area is a mess seems to be a place to store supplies for roading and if you don't mind getting woken up at 5 by the 2 roosters that

Big free place close to Motueka.

Close to the river so Nice site.

You have to be there before 6pm if you want a grassy place (during high season)

Thanks NZ for this campsite ! We love you !

Rebuild after severe flood damage, its a large area with patches of grass and a gravel road in the middle.

Hopefully the grass will grow over time as its bare soil mostly now. They also put the new toilet in today.

Lovely quiet spot, river is beautiful in the evening and nice to cool down. Shade from the trees surrounding the area. Lots of sandflies unfortunatly though...

Also not busy at all, but possibly cause it just reopened and its not high season.

When we arrived it was dark so couldnt see too much.

There were about 50 vehicles (no campervans) just people in their cars. We found a small area near the end to park our small camper. We hadn't even stopped the vehicle when a drunk sounding man started yelling at us to F... off & that 'clampers' were not welcome here. We paused for a moment unsure if he was joking or even speaking to us but he then started stumbling toward us, still yelling obscenities so we made the wise decision to leave. This so called campsite is full of homeless drunks living in their cars & I would advise Rankers to remove from their site. I was actually quite shaken by this experience & hope it doesn't happen to any other fellow campers.

+ Calm place near by the road, but really low traffic during night.

    + At river

    + Trash bins

    + Plenty places for vehicles.

    - It could be more tidy

    - No drinking or untreated water

Seems like work has been done since the floods.

6 or so gravelled spots, with room on grass for more. Only 7 campers on this night for us which was great. Was quiet, with river in background. Sand flies were plentiful but had worse else where. Big negative was that toilets were locked and unusable. This meant campers were going toilet in bushes. Not ideal.

    Very busy place.

We arrived very late and didn't even leave or mobilhome. Lucky that we had our own toilet as the one of the site looked already dirty.

Packed to the brim with people.

People definitely extending their stays there. One toilet on the top of the hill. Not a pleasant place to spend the night. It felt like a quarantine zone. On plus side, it’s free?
