3.5/5
Came here because of the previously high ranking.
Can’t say I agree. Although I appreciated kind owners, the clean facilities and unlimited WiFi, I found the parklinglot style Camping spaces close together, without a hint of privacy offering an underwhelming view amid a residential neighbourhood in an unremarkable town. Sorry, but for the price of $35-50 (only serviced spots here) I’ve seen better value. Wish I’d read a review like this before coming.

Leigh Central now accepts all types of vehicles as they have a new shower and toilet block.
Free unlimited wifi is great. Best to book on their website to guarantee a place for the night.

Great spot with super friendly and helpful owners.
We just paid the $20 for site and power but the facilities looked absolutely spotless. Cute little kitchen and lounge area as well. Highly recommended!

Great camping!
Spacious spots, some with nice view. Good and clean facilities. Nice hosts, very kind and helping you around. I loved the kitchen/lounge area, it’s really cozy, feels like home and got some good kitchen gear. Free unlimited (good!) wifi. Laundry is 10 dollars, unlimited washing machine and dryer.
We spend two nights because of a rainy day, good to spend it here inside the lounge. Highly recommend it!

New ensuite bathrooms and lovely “kiwi Bach” style kitchen and lounge area. Welcoming helpful hosts. Great first place to stop out of Auckland heading North.

There are 14 grass top powered spaces for self contained vehicles just behind the motel.
Each space has access to fresh water. There is also a water waste disposal field where water waste is used to grow a flower and plant garden. WiFi is free and fast during our visit. You are right next door to a cafe and just around the corner from a small main street with other amenities.
Ian, the owner is also quite welcoming, helpful and informative.
The view is limited and the lot is otherwise no frills, but if you need a place to park with power, WiFi, fresh water and waste water disposal, and access to good coffee in the morning, this is a pretty good deal at the suggested donation of $20 per night per vehicle.
