Following a full safety briefing (in either English or Mandarin) you will be given your stunning red jumpsuit, strapped into your harness and introduced to your tandem master a.k.a beautiful stranger. From onboard our big orange plane your incredible scenic flight to altitude captures 360 degree views of New Zealand’s highest mountains, including Mount Cook and Mount Aspiring, famous glaciers and crystal clear lakes and rivers. Once you reach your chosen altitude of 12,000 or 15,000 feet it’s time to leap…and experience the pure adrenalin rush of freefalling at 200kph above the stunning Central Otago landscape with the best in New Zealand. After 45 – 60 seconds of freefall, catch your breath and enjoy the smooth flight under canopy safely back down to the dropzone.

it was a good experience in itself.
the waiting around not so much. we were there for 3 hours during for a 2pm jump. because we were jumping we didn't have lunch before and got really hungry. so if you even want to try this out, bring a snack for waiting period.
I'd recommend anyone who's interested to try skydiving, it is honestly one of the best thing I have ever tried in my life

Skydiving is a must-do experience and Wanaka is a great place to do it.
Minor gripes with the service, price, and videowork though. The NZ deals pass helped a little.

Incredible views. Alex was a great instructor. Make sure you watch the welcome safety video. I had no instructions until I was already on the plane.

Really professional, stunning scenery with a fantastic view, of course, great staff.
Expensive to not get at least one photo included - almost $200 extra for footage, in my opinion, taking advantage. In Argentina, some footage was included.

Diving i think is Perfect, but Organisation for me the worst i had in NZ.
I get Four Dates in 24h and all were canceled, at the Last one i called them and they told me that they will start and Pick me up (6:15), i was waiting 30min it Rains, they pick me up, Drive some Meters, canceled it again and drove me back! so i wasted one Full day in Wanaka for that!

Amazing experience - the team were great - made it really personal.
Not cheap, but few once-in-a-lifetime experiences are. Make sure you have good weather to jump and book ahead - they get very busy.

It's good to have free shuttle service from Queenstown to Wanaka, have another option of skydiving when you stay at Queenstown.

We had to cancel it four times because of the weather but in the end it was amazing.
But $200NZD for pictures and a movie is a bit expensive.

One of my best experiences till date!
The team at Skydive Wanaka were very professional (though I had to wait for a day to do the jump). Its about 1 hour's drive from Queensdown (please factor that in too!)

The skydiving part was great, the views were indeed majestic, safety wasn't an issue, but what disappointed me was the staff.
Not those at the reception counter, who were very friendly, but the instructor and the camera flyer.
It was all good up till the part where we were all dressed in the gear and waiting to board the plane. The instructors then came calling out the name of the person they were skydiving with, and those who opted for a camera flyer (someone else to take a video of you) would also have him come finding you. The instructor didn't appear enthusiastic but I guess that was fine, then came the camera flyer, who didn't really introduce himself and just thrusted 2 GoPros into my face and asked a series of questions (what's your name, where are you from, anything to tell your friends/family back home). During the flight up, the camera flyer seemed more interested in talking to his fellow colleagues than filming. Once in a while, he would place the GoPros at the window to take the scenery, but that was about it. I thought they would have taken some shots of me in the plane, but nothing of that sort. The final video wasn't nice in my opinion, lots of scenery shots onboard the plane, as if there wasn't enough footage to fill up the length of the video.
Ultimately, I felt both the instructor and camera flyer were pretty transactional. Like, this was the umpteenth time they were flying and they were just doing a job, rather than delivering a memorable experience where you "strap yourself to a beautiful stranger", which is Skydive Wanaka's motto. They could have introduced themselves better and prepared customers for what is to come (e.g. camera flyer could have briefly explained how he would film you, and not just thrust the cameras in your face and expect you to react immediately on the spot), and most importantly, be livelier and more enthusiastic! I guess it depends on your luck as well, some instructors and camera flyers seemed better.
