    An unprofessional company.

I booked the Mont Blanc trip, they changed it to a cheaper Gran Paradiso version. The guide is hopeless and impatient. He enjoy scoffing and insulting his client. One could walk at any speed provided that it is his speed. He even pull the rope when I was jumping over a crevasse, then to tell me off for stepping forward and losses the rope! If you miss a turn, he will scoff you again. When I report it to the head office, I got no reply. When pushed, the lady replied that due to the hot weather, guides are like that! And since my guide is from Scotland, she justified: Scot has a sense of humour! That was it. Next time, you all should try Charmonix Experience. It is cheaper and far more professional.

    Mitch must a lucky guy.

I have the same poor experience with Adventure Consultants. They subcontract your tour to cheap guides. The problem is that they are based in NZ and therefore can provide next to zero backup support when things go wrong on site.

If there was a zero star rating i would but there is no option for it.

I took Mountaineering instruction course with AC with lots of hiking experience on my end. I was extremely unhappy with the course. First of all, I compromise my trip days (5days to 4days cause they wanted me to since I was the only one who signed up) then I get there, I only get to climb ONE day out of 4days. First 2 days was completely waste of time. We weren't even outdoor hiking nor climbing and last day was as well. I was expected to climb that day but the guide decided to show me few tricks about snow gear and then we return back to headquarter. It was more like 2 days of course which I feel that AC mis advertised the course. I feel it was over priced for what the course provided (1750$ NZ). And the guide was completely unprofessional. He would lose patient with me if I didn’t understand what he was trying to teach me and gave me an attitude. On top of that, his transportation was absolutely disgusting. I felt that the guide’s transportation and his attitude represent how unprofessional AC was. I and couple of my friends were planning on Kili trip this Sept. but I am seeking other guide company. I heard good t hings about Alpine Guide. Please go with Alpine Guide.

Not sure what Littl_swon is talking about but i had the opposite experience.

Well organised, run and communicated experience in the mountains. The guides (i met a few) were all patient professional, flexible and a lot of fun.

As far as using the other companies, remember they organise the experience and contract the actual guides (who are all independent) so ultimately you could end up with the same guide at each company.

I chose AC as their response to my quieries were quick and accomodating and after the experience i would be happy to continue my future trips with them
