We had a great day at the prawn park today, the staff were lovely but there was one young man at the boats who stood out from the rest, he was polite, engaging and nothing was a hassle for him, he made

us all feel welcome and made sure we all got to go on all the different boats, even the cranky kids stopped being cranky.

There is something about this young man that is very special, he has a way with people old and young and he should be very proud of how he handled himself, especially when it looked like he was doing the majority of the work.

Well done young man! Thank you for making our Easter holiday memorable. I believe his name was Tyrone.

The price and the location was really good but the hooks they provided were blunt and so you need a lot of luck to catch a lot of prawns.

We visited the funtastic Prawn Park on Saturday July 9th.

IWe had an outstanding experience while we were there, all six hours of it.

From the reception desk where we met Marwin (I think that is the correct spelling) to the staff at the fishing hut the service we encountered was exceptional.

Marwin is the perfect person for the reception area, with his huge welcoming smile and broad knowledge of the workings of the prawn farm. The tour he conducted was fun, informative and we felt that no question we asked was too silly. The fishing hut staff were helpful, even walking around in the rain to see how we were going, giving us more bait, suggesting different techniques, and icing our meagre catch. The restaurant staff were also helpful offering us different options for cooking our catch. Unfortunately time nor budget allowed us to enjoy their menu, other than the perfectly cooked hot chips, nicely presented in a tray for takeaway, with sauce AND aioli at no extra cost. Cooked quickly and delivered with a smile. Most impressive service and quite possibly the best chips we have had.

The Gauntlet, The Bush Walk, Water Bikes, Playground and Treasure Hunt were also fun, for us and the kids.

All in all it was a great day, the kids loved it, good value for money (even without the Grab One half price Voucher) and your overall customer service was phenomenal. We will be recommending this experience to anybody who is willing to listen.

    Thanks again

A neat experience, but too expensive unless you just really enjoy fishing, have too much money to blow, or want to pay someone to let you chill by a pond for the day.

If you want the prawns, just buy them from the front desk and do the tour.

Thanks for taking the time to review Huka Prawn Park. We are sorry to hear that you found the park to be expensive. Huka Prawn Park has been developed on over 6 hectares of land, and Prawn Fishing is just one of the activities included within your pass. Our park entry also includes the opportunity to experience all the other activities scattered around the park, such as Hand Feeding Baby Prawns, Geothermal Foot Baths, Trout Viewing and Feeding, Interactive Water Features, playgrounds and so much more. We encourage our visitors to experience all that we have to offer, and believe our Entry Passes offer great value for money, for the whole family for an entire days entertainment.

It is a shame you did not enjoy your prawn fishing. We strive very hard to ensure all our visitors have a successful fishing experience and almost all of our visitors, when following the correct techniques, do have a successful catch. We thank you for your review and will certainly be reminding our Fishing Guides of the importance of ensuring our fishermen and women are familiar with the unique techniques required, to successfully fish fo prawns!

We are disappointed that you obviously did not enjoy your time at Huka Prawn Park. We believe we have developed our park to create a fun and enjoyable experience for all. Our family passes cover a maximum of 2 adults and up to 5 children, and at just $60 for a full day family pass, believe this offers great value for money. We encourage all our visitors to see and experience all that we have to offer, as we have over 6 hectares of park dedicated to family fun activities, aswell as our prawn fishing. We have made recent changes to our Prawn Fishing instructions and processes and are thrilled to see families departing at the end of the day, with buckets of prawns, exhausted kids, from playing all day, and big happy faces.

Thanks for taking the time to add a review on Rankers. We are pleased to advise that we have conducted a great deal of research into the 'art' of prawn fishing over recent months and have put a number of new steps in place, to try and ensure all visitors have a successful and enjoyable fishing experience.

We now include a a 10 minute fishing lesson with our guides as part of our Tour to ensure all visitors have every opportunity to learn the 'tricks' of prawn fishing. We have also taken our public fishing ponds out of the Farm Harvest Rotation, which means we can now reduce the feed going into these ponds, to ensure the prawns are hungrier. These new steps are already proving to be very successful and we are pleased to see many visitors departing at the end of the day with many prawns and huge smiles!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Rankers.

We are pleased to advise that effective 01 October, we actually reduced our Family Pass rates and increased the number of children included to 5 children. We believe this offers fantastic value for money. We are also continually adding and upgrading our park with more fun and exciting activities and encourage visitors to see, explore and enjoy our entire park, aswell as the unique and fun, Prawn Fishing.
