Go on a sunny day to make the most of the drive into the waikato farm country.
Our guide Phillip was a great old bugger with a very dry humour. He was asleep when we arrived cos he'd been shearing sheep. So we had coffee at the cafe, lovely rustic place that has art as well. You can wander aroung the grounds. Four of us went , getting through the squeeze was challenging, you will get wet. awesome cave. Great "untouristy" adventure.

Yet again an awesome caving experience led by Phillip.
This was probably the 6th time we've been to Nikau Caves and we see something amazing everytime we go. Definately a 'must-do' of the Waikato region, we love the fact it's not commercialised like some of the other caves it's a 'real' experience and a very cool day out for overseas visitors. Great guides, felt very safe with them. Its real caving, at its best, suitable for range of people, and now they have an awesome café, great food and in such a beautiful setting.
