Riverjet Thermal Safari - Taupo's Thermal Wonderland
Experience the world's only river jet tour that allows you to step off of your jet boat and onto a fantastic geothermal wonderland. This adrenaline-pumping experience offers the thrill of blasting down Waikato River at 90km/h to spending an hour exploring Taupo's hidden valley Orakei Korako.
One moment you will race down the Waikato River barely avoiding obstacles, pulling donuts and shooting towards the riverbanks. The next moment you will cruise through the spectacular Tutukau Gorge watching abundant bird life, pine forests, steaming volcanic river banks and trout feeding areas on your way down to Orakei Korako; one of New Zealand’s most popular geothermal attractions.
The stunning scenery of the mighty Waikato River makes you feel like time stood still as you gently cruise through the spectacular Tutukau Gorge where the canyon walls rise dramatically up to 50 metres above the water.

Operating at 10 am daily, the scenic blast offers you a 55 minute, 36km return trip down our mighty Waikato river. Set off with a scenic jet boat ride in a sleek black boat on the magnificent Waikato River - New Zealand’s longest river. See birds, pine forests, farmlands, native bush, the 50 metre high Tutukau Gorge, steaming volcanic river banks and spot trout.
On return our jet boat driver will put pedal to the metal and taking you for an exhilarating thrill ride home! This includes the famous Hamilton spills! So hold on tight and get ready for some real fun!

When I arrived home 2 days later I realized that I had misplaced my CD - upon informing the crew at NZ Riverjet, they where more than helpful giving me another copy. I would most certainly recommend to all travellers.

The Squeeze, warm stream walk & waterfall make it so much better than passively sitting in a jet boat ride.
Very informative comments & history from Adam while cruising through beautiful Waikato river scenery. He's clever with his bird calls. Then indulging in the amazing feeling of being showered by a warm waterfall. Followed by fast jet boat action for 20km.
January air temperature in the 20s was a great time to visit. Bookme.com has specials. No hesitation in buying photos Adam took while we were getting sprayed under the waterfall (kind of like tipping for a job well done). Also good service from Ella at base with pre-booking queries.

It was awesome as!
So cool, exciting and highly recommend for anyone of all ages. Staff is very kind and you get a real intimate experience with them. Geothermal park was a breathtaking sight and would definitely be keen to try the squeeze next time!

Such a beautiful trip down the Waikato River to the geo thermal reserve.
Our jetboat driver (Adam) was awesome - very knowledgable & friendly & the spins on the way back were great fun! Office staff were also super friendly & helpful - even assisted with recommending & organising visits for us to other attractions in the area! Can't beat "Local knowledge"! Highly recommend this company & trip.

Great day with RiverJet!
Especially accommodating and helpful for our 6 year old. He had a BLAST.
We called to get idea and options and they really helped plan a whole day for us, even helping get most economical tour to The Squeeze. Its like 3 activities...first the cruise down the river in the jetboat to the squeeze. Nice discussions and tour of the river and both the natural and historic sites. Then hop out for THE SQUEEZE was great. Amazing and the warm water on a cold day was a great combo.the water was so warm and relaxing and the "waterfall" gives the best back massage
Then it was back in the jetboat and its amazing what those boats can do, 360s a plenty.

The Squeeze is definitely a must do for everyone!
Great value for money and what an amazing experience. Our driver was so knowledgeable but also very entertaining and just made the whole trip that much better. We took our 9 year old and he just loved it.. This really showcases some stunning scenery and reminds you of how beautiful NZ is. Would recommend this to anyone. Thanks Riverjet for a fabulous day and one we will always remember.

Unique, fun, value for money is the simplest way to sum up this outing.
Wife and me did "The Squeeze" and yep that's very much a back to nature experience. A ride on a jet boat, a wander up a hot water stream, squeezing between rocks, a brief stop under a hot water waterfall and then a soak in the hot pool above the waterfall.
I'll admit I had my reservations about this beforehand, but heck I enjoyed that! Physically the most challenging is the first few metres in soft riverbed until you get into the hot water stream...but I would thoroughly recommend this to young and old.

A 2.5-3hr trip, of jet boat ride, river walk, waterfall and soak in warm pool. Well worth doing. An experience with an enjoyable difference :) Will definitely do it again. We've done Huka Jet, Rapids Jet and now Riverjet NZ. Riverjet is TOPS! So worth the price. Thanks for the discount :)

Absolutely amazing experience!
Me and my sister were staying inTaupo for the Christmas period and found out about this trip so got booked on straight away, we got the online special for $119 so even better! the jet boat ride up was lovely and very educational, we stopped a couple of times and got told stories about different areas. we arrived at the stream and it was lbvely and warm. After a little walk down the stream and literally squeezing between the rocks, we came to the waterfall. It was truly an unforgettable experience and I will recommend it to anyone who visits the area. There is also a small hot pool at the top you can access as well as the waterfall. Adam was a fantastic guide and took lots of photos for us to cherish forever.

Had a great experience on NZ Riverjet trip.
Squeeze is a most unique experience I have done in my life. Feel like an engage with the nature. Simon was our guide and he was great. Very experienced and knowledge of everything. Good combination of Jet boat ride, soft adventure and geothermal. Must do. 100% recommended.
