What is bond?

A bond is a dollar amount entrusted to the rental car company by the hirer. It covers costs for vehicle/equipment damage or if the conditions of hire are not satisfied. The bond is made available to the rental car company in such a way that it is immediately accessible should they require it (cash transfer, credit card authorisation etc). The bond authorisation is arranged at the beginning of the hire period and cancelled or refunded when the transaction is completed.
