Well worth getting up early for!
The staff were so enthusiastic and full of interesting facts and information. Going on the early trip was made better by the fact we were the only boat on the Sound at the time so it was peaceful.

Everything went without any problems.

iHola. Thanks for your review and ranking, and we're very glad you enjoyed your trip :)
I guess Doubtful Sound could be considered expensive, but it roughly an 8 hour day..so if you broke it down, you're paying about $28 per hour for 5 hours of cruising on 2 boat trips, and a return coach trip across a mountain pass plus the attention of 2 staff members for the whole day. Which is not that bad when you consider that we also provide free transfers from Te Anau and unlimited free hot drinks on board as well. The ticket price also pays for Department of Conservation fees for operating in a National Park, fees for using the road across the Wilmot Pass, and marine mammal levies, Meridian Energy passenger levies, amongst other costs that we incur for operating in this beautiful remote wilderness area.
Kind regards

Definitely an avenue for a limited number of discounted fares…mind you our 'normal' rate is pretty damn good anyway!

We did the full day doubtful sounds tour.
What an incredible day with a fantastic bus driver / skippers. Nothing was a problem, they were so helpful and keen to make everyone's day special, even though they do it every day they managed to make it sound fresh, new and exciting... like an orange! I highly recommend these guys. By the way the normal sized lunch option if you buy it, would be fine for most people - the large option was huuuuge!

Wow, thank you for the ranking and the review Michele and we apologise for the delay in responding!
The lunch options are quite generous, but it's a long day out there in all that fresh air…we can't have you starving before you get back to land :)

Doubtful Sound tour from TeAnau: VERY nice, well organised and very nice staff/guides througout.
Pickup at holiday park by bus to Manapouri (30 min), boat across lake Manapouri (1 hr), bus via Homer Pass and power station (very interesting), then 3 hrs boat on Doubtful Sound. A day trip to remember!

Brilliant day on Doubtful Sound.
Can't fault Go Orange from booking to finishing our journey. The stars of the day were Sean the coach driver and Blake the skipper. They made you feel as though you were the first visitors on this stunning cruise. There enthusiasm is infectious. They even sorted some beautiful weather for us! 9/3/14

We chose go orange for doughtful Sound as the other Were booked.
The cheapest and we was not disapointed.
The frist part over the Lake was actually with Real journey boat but from the powerstation we drive with go orange. The power station was interesting and the drive over the pass to doughtful Sound very Nice.
The go orange boat ón doughtful Sound was slower than the other Boats so we had Munch more time ón the Sound, which made it a perfect.
