Peel Forest Horse Trekking is located 90 minutes from Christchurch and 20 minutes north of Geraldine, just off the Inland Scenic Route. As we have the Rangitata River right at our doorstep out treks take in river crossings, through beautiful native podacarp forest and more. We are unique in that we do not have specific times but are happy to fit in with our clients. We have an assortment of horses, from a lovely old Clydesdale cross, Charlie to quarter horses, apolossas and good old reliable standard breds. We can cater for all abilities of riders and are happy to take children as young as three.
If it is an overnight trek that you are looking for we have some great Multi Day Treks available. The wilderness at its best and staying in old sheep herders huts or tents. Enjoy good food and conversation around a camp fire at night after a days ride.
We also have a 4+ Star Lodge that you can combine with a trek. Dinner & Breakfast are also included in this package - a lovely gift for someone special.
