  • Our day trip from Queenstown to Milford Sound was very well organised.

We had a driver / guide called Junior whose driving on the tricky roads and very knowledgeable commentary were excellent. When we boarded the cruise boat, we were treated to an outstanding buffet lunch before enjoying the breathtaking views of Milford Sound.

I would highly recommend this trip

  • During the coach journey from Queenstown to Milford Sound cruise, the winding roads caused severe motion sickness for both of us.

My wife became extremely ill and vomited multiple times. Upon reaching Milford Sound, we sought assistance from the driver, but the only option provided was a helicopter return at a cost of NZD 995 per person. We reluctantly agreed, paying nearly NZD 2000, expecting a more comfortable and immediate return.

However, we were dismayed to find ourselves back on the coach for over an hour, worsening my wife’s condition. There was no medical support or assistance provided, which is alarming for such a remote and potentially hazardous journey. Our Christmas plans were completely disrupted, and this experience has left us deeply disappointed.

  • I’ve traveled around the world and been on countless tours.

This is by far the absolute worst experience. I came all the way to New Zealand to to see Milford Sound. I booked it and got a confirmation email. I waited at 6:30 am and they never picked me up. I called that morning and was informed they should be there any minute. No one showed up. I called back and said they actually never booked the car to get me! They said I missed the bus for the day. I couldn’t believe it. They then rescheduled to Sunday. Then Sunday, the roads are closed. Then Monday (my last day) was sold out so they couldn’t add me. If they had picked me up when they were supposed to, I would’ve been able to go. I don’t even know if I can go back to NZ again. This is such a terrible and sad experience.

  • Great trip and a hot buffet breakfast included for the price.

We saw dolphins and seals. Although it was cold and rainy - excellent trip, many falls. Hot coffee and tea available on a cold day. Bring an umbrella.

  • Fiord was wonderful, even if the weather was foggy.

To go on a cruise is the only was to discover this amazing and unique place even if it is expensive.

  • It was cloudy and raining when we went in January.

We were told it is hardly ever clear like the pictures! It is still spectacular though. Worth going after 3pm to avoid the crowds.

  • We did the Discover More cruise which includes entrance to the observation deck.

We expected a bit more of that. We found it not really interesting. Also we wished that the route of the cruise was a bit longer. Most of the scenery can be seen from land.

  • We did the cruise with Southern Discoveries in Milford Sound.

Very nice view of the fjord (the ship is too big and crowded).

  • Friendly staff, but you cannot understand them through the speakers outside which is a shame because they explained a lot.

Free coffee and tea. Really close to the waterfalls, cliffs and seals.
