    Definitely recommend this spot.

Owners were amazing, very nice family. All facilities were like new, hot showers $1 for 6 mins, kitchen had everything, pots and pans to use, fridge/freezers, BBQ. Very close to the beach. Nice way to spend Christmas in a small campground

Lovely pastoral setting with spacious grassy sites.

Quiet, even though just off the highway with modern and well appointed ammenities. Close to Coromandel and great value for this region. One of the best parks we have stayed in on the North Island.

    Pretty well looked after place.

After 6pm, the check in moves to the owners bus which was a bit odd to try and then find and book a site. The facilities are decent, nothing flash. However, this is not medium cost camping. It was $22pp for an unpowered site and $27 for a powered - when advertised in the $11-20 range. Apparently those are off-season prices (but they are closed off-season?). So a bit disappointed to turn up and it was getting late to drive somewhere else. It was also further from a beach/river than I thought (although that is my fault for not looking close enough). Owners are friendly and the place is surrounded by paddocks so a nice outlook anyway.

Brilliant campsite, very clean and excellent facilities, good sized kitchen with everything you could need including fridges and freezer.

Plenty bbqs and the owner Greg was very helpful and nice. Also very close to new Chums Beach. Would definately recommend this site and stay here again.

Near to new chums beach (drive) which was great!

Nice field to have the van in and good kitchen/loos, maybe a little bit expensive for basic campsite/unpowered but friendly staff and relaxed :) 40 dollars for one night two people in an unpowered spot

Stayed for 2 nights in January on an unpowered campsite, $20 per person per night.

Nice, clean and fairly new facilities. Close to the state highway but road noise wasn't a problem at night. Whangapoua is a few minutes drive away which is the access to New Chums beach which is well worth a visit. Not much shade if the sun is beating down but otherwise a good little campsite - recommended.

    Such a nice place!

We spent Christmas 2015 there. It was lovely. Everything so clean and dishes and all your kitchen equipment provided. Perfect starting point for New Chums Beach.

A basic campsite with a bit of history.

The sites are a generous size and very reasonably priced. The facilities are spotless and the hosts informative and helpful. Although just off the main road this was not an issue as there is little night traffic.

Facilities are amazingly clean, probably partly due to having such a recent renovation, staff were really friendly and had great local knowledge of area, tides, places to eat etc.

100mb of wireless data included too, bonus. Stayed in the deluxe double cabins, nice cosy feel and well laid out, all we needed to have a relaxing time. Would happily recommend to others, we will be back for sure!

Whangapoua Holiday Park – YES they have powered sites [just installed].

Here is a park that looks brand spanking new. It is impossibly clean and shiny! The owners are lovely and very conscious of making sure you are well looked after. Here is a perfect jumping off spot to travel to New Chums beach for a leisurely day of walking and relaxing on one of New Zealand’s best beaches. Cathedral Cove won my vote though. It is a WOW beach. Hot Water beach is fairly close as well and plenty of fun digging the sand and forming a pool to sit in.
