The Karekare Falls are an idyllic cascade of gleaming water, dropping to an inviting swimming hole.

Walking Track

Access

The start of the track is signposted 100 metres on the left after crossing the bridge to Lone Kauri Road over the Company Stream at Karekare.

The track is metalled and even as it descends to the falls.

    Very nice short track.

    Nice waterfall and pools. Karekare is really a magic place.

    You can swim in the waterfall as it is like a natural pool.

    Near the bottom of the main waterfall, there is a small lake in which you can also swim and have a picnic in the middle of the lake.
