Clearly signposted. Stream and river crossings are bridged. Walking shoes or light tramping/hiking boots required.

    A great walk but very slippery after rain.

    Dogs must be kept on a leash. Penguins nest in the area. A small section is DoC but Auckland Council are responsible for maintaining this walkway but don't do much there. It needs some maintenance.Track goes under lots of mature native trees and coast is bordered by boulders.

    Beautiful spot by the wharf where you can freedom camp SCC for 2 nights, only 2 campers at a time.

    Toilets, fishing off wharf, great walk.

    Great hike, not hard tramping.

    Rock climbing at the end of the track is okay and views are stellar.
