    Phenomenal experience.

Not cheap, but kayaking in Mt Aspiring National Park is something I would recommend to everyone! This is geared towards the less sporty types with relatively little kayaking.

After reaching Queenstown I surfed the net to find some cool activities and the Funyak Safari immediately caught my eye.

You get a jet boat ride (I can't get enough of jet boating), a gormet picnic (delicious!) and the chance to canoe back down the dart river past some amazing scenery! The trip itself did not disapoint, I absolutley loved it! Our Guide was entertaining, smart and informative and just before lunch she brought us to this secret creek just off the river which was just right out of some kind of mythical land, the colour of the river was a rich green, sheer walls of rock stretching up above us, beautiful trees, and Tui's singing around us. What a trip! It's what New Zealand is all about. I'll jump at the chance to do it again when I get back to Queenstown.

The jetboat ride was not so much fun, boring and we were frozen after 20minutes.

The canoe part was great and the crew was very friendly.

The Jet boating and lunch was very good.

However, our guide for the funyak must have got out of the wrong side of the bed the day that we were there as he was quite snappy and not very friendly (which kind of took the fun out of funyak!). We weren't terrible and from the way our guide spoke to us you would swear we were kayaking down treacherous rapids not calm water.

Saying that it was still a fun day out.

    This was an incredible experience.

Firstly Jet-boating up the Dart river, then inflating our funyaks... then jumping aboard with a friend and beginning to paddle back down the river...

The lunch from the Glenorchy Cafe (GYC) was incredible. It was filling, tasty and perfect. The coffee was hot and just what we needed on a rather chilly day.

Being able to take our cameras up to that beautiful part of the country and paddle around and have fun was really awesome. The only negative was the friend I was with seemed to have difficulty paddling (but she is not really the most coordinated person), but when we put her in the bow (the front) I was able to control us better. We only fell out once, and that just added to the adventure.

A great day out, and well worth it.

You get into the environment. Easily one of the best value for money activities in town. Jet Boating, Funyakking, Lunch and 4WD back. Guides really know their stuff. Would love to go again!

This has to be one of the best silly things to do in South Island!

Very well organised. The "funyaks" - inflatable canoes are a hoot. The day we went out there was a stiff wind across the river, which made paddling - err - interesting. The guides were great and took a lot of trouble with those who were having a bit of difficulty paddling. We've canoed before - but I bet you didn't know you could do Hamilton Turns in an inflatable canoe! The picnic provided was awesome! The scenery is glorious. This was a fabulous trip and I'd love to do it again.

    Fun Day, great guide.

More skill needed than anticipated. Not physically demanding just skill paddling - had expected to be in calmer water like on their brochure, instead of on a fast moving river. But had a great time. Only dumped into the river twice-then linked our boat to our guide - Then much more enjoyable. ;0)
