I was a little anxious about this dive.

I am a PADI AOW diver with about 400 dives logged. Milford Sound is cold water diving even in summer. Cold water diving is much more stressful on the body - heart, lungs, brain - than warm tropical water diving. The crew at Descend understand this and go to lengths to ensure you are safe, comfortable and have the best experience you can imagine. They are professional and so experienced. I knew I was in safe hands once Carrie told me she had dived 1500 dives and had been diving everyday for over 5 years. Now thats impressive. They have excellent quality gear, they include torches, semi dry suits, brand new state of the art BCD's and integrated weight belts. Dont do the boat cruise in Milford Sound go scuba diving, it will be the highlight of your trip, I promise!!!

A day trip on a speed boat including sightseeing, two scuba dives, a private waterfall, lunch and a very personal and relaxing atmosphere!

In our opinion, best way to explore Milford Sound away from the tourist masses.

We booked a dive tour and it was worth every cent!

Nice team, snacks for the surface time and we saw a beautiful underwater world. A lot of fish, seals, black coral. Passed by Mitre Peak and the waterfall.

Simone and Lance are true diving enthusiasts that run a top-notch operation!

The boat, the gear provided, the sites selected in Milford Sound and their expertise were all exceptional. Even the food and hot drinks they provided were superb! My 2 dives in Milford were a world-class experience, and Descend Scubadiving made it a truly memorable event. I also commend them on their adherence to conservation guidelines in the Park, and their love of their job, nature and NZ are clear! Definitely dive with Descend--one of my best memories from the trip!

This is one of many NZ dive operators that we have dived with and have found it to the one of the best for a number of reasons.

First, they were so great to pick us up from our accommodation. The boat was smaller but was very well kept, had a toilet, and provided enough room for all of us. The crew was Lance and Simone. I found both of them to be the type of people you would hope find in the business. They love what they are doing and really care about marine conservation. The safety brief was very thorough. We were well informed on each dive site and Simone did a good job of keeping track of each team while in the water. The diving visibility was about 15 meters so not ideal for this location but definitely could be worse. In between dives we were well catered to with hot drinks, biscuit, and a sandwich. We actually had some young fur seals swimming with us plus we also saw black coral, butterfly perch, scorpion fish, moki, crayfish, snake star, and few more creatures. If you want to really experience Milford Sound then I suggest doing it with Descend Scubadiving. If I had the time I would also do a drift dive with them.
