We arrived late at night in our RV and my 4 year old started randomly waving out the window, when asked whom she was waving at she said the man standing on the road.
We all felt an uncomfortable precedence within the area and decided to move on

Camping spots are sparse around here, so it's better than nothing.
The road into here was pretty scary in a 6 berth campervan, narrow and steep. We arrived late at night, parked and were almost asleep when we were woken by a couple of 'hoons' (noisy idiots revving their car engines) driving back and forth, and given its isolation, felt too unsafe to stay here with two young children. Drove on for another 40 minutes or so to the much nicer, Tokaanu Tailrace.

A great view on a clear day from the lookout structure.
Sealed area accessed by a steep sealed road, camping spots are few and far between out in this area so there's not to many to choose from.
A bit of graffiti around could indicate a favoured spot for local youths?
