Riding waves is something you can't explain, you just feel the surreal thrill. At one with nature, gliding across liquid powered only by the strength in your arms & the power of the ocean. Magical, miraculous, like Walking on Water!
Walking on Water is a Surf School based in Gisborne, New Zealand. We teach all ages and all walks of life to Surf. Open everyday, the school's goal is to give you a safe and super fun surfing experience and share the joy of surfing with you!
Our team of female and male instructors are stoked to offer a variety of tried and tested techniques that help both adults and kids learn to surf waves in no time!!
Whether you are completely new to the sport, an intermediate surfer or just someone that picks up a board in the summer time we can help you advance to the next level in your surfing.

Fist time surfing - lesson with Liz: wow, she is such a good teacher.
A+++ : Amazing, Awesome & Astonishing
She was so helpful, motivating and encouraging! Shame that I had to catch up my plane to go home the same day, because I would have loved to stay and do more lessons with her. If you want to get on your feet and try surfing: do it! And if you do it with Wow surf school, you will be surprise to realize how easy and fun it is! Thank you so much!

We have very good experience with wow surf school.
It was wonderful time and in short time we learnt really a lot. Liz is very good and motivating teacher. We would 100% recommend her school. It was amazing :-)

I'd recommend WOW Surf School for anyone wanting to give surfing a go.
Liz provided an excellent mix of safety, instruction and fun for all of us; 8, 10 and 48! The children were up and surfing in no time and with persistence, encouragement and advice from Liz, so was I.
So good we went back for a follow up lesson. Definitely not one to miss.

My 15 year old daughter and I enrolled in the five day course pretty much as novice surfers and by the end of the week we were catching most waves and riding them to the beach.
Liz is a great instructor - professional; fun, laid back and most importantly bloody good at what she does. Over the five days we watched many people taking just one or two day lessons standing on the boards and starting to surf - it didn't matter whether they were fourteen or fifty - Liz had them surfing.

I had two surf lessons and it was really great.
We had some good waves and after 10 minutes everyone was able to surf! That was one of the best things of my New Zealand trip! Thank you very much!
