Hokianga isite Visitor Information Centre

Our friendly and knowledgeable local experts will provide you with impartial information about accommodation, activities and tours throughout Whangarei, Northland and the rest of New Zealand. They are agents for Tranz Rail, Intercity, Interislander and Bluebridge and offer a FREE booking service.

This is a special undiscovered part of Northland which is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year.

Take a boat trip across to the giant dunes where you can try sand dune surfing, or take a walk on the beach between Koutu and Kauwhare where you will find the Koutu Boulders. Wairere Boulders in Horeke is the only valley worldwide of its kind where there are thousands of boulders stacked on top of each other. Some are around 30m high.

The Waipoua Forest is home to Tane Mahuta and Te Matua Ngahere - New Zealands largest living Kauri trees.

Really friendly and helpful staff member who booked our Cook Strait ferry and told us something about the area.

Like all i-Sites we visited, ample leaflets and information about local attractions, paid and free.
