PROPRIETORS OF ANAURA INCORPORATION
The Incorporation plays an important role in the economic prosperity of the Gisborne/East Coast region. Situated on the East Coast of the North Island, approximately 20 kilometres north of Tolaga Bay, a leisurely hours' drive north of Gisborne City is Anaura Bay. An idyllic coastal spot, Anaura Bay is the home of the Proprietors of Anaura a Maori Incorporation, with major land interests and business ventures.
The view from the top of the hill approaching Anaura Bay is breath-taking. The blue Pacific Ocean with lace-like wavelets, rolling white sand, the dark island of Motuoroi looming in the background and the lush green pasture, are sites that draw hundreds of visitors to the sheltered bay each year.Retention of this environment whilst maintaining our business operations are paramount for Anaura.
One of our business interests is the Anaura Bay Motor Camp set in the centre of the coastal, beach front lands owned by the Incorporation, surrounded by our 3,200 hectares of mainly farm lands dominated with livestock farming.
ANAURA BAY MOTOR CAMP
We have 60 Tent and 30 powered sites. Included in your motor camp tariff is access to our camp shop, communal kitchen, Wi Fi, bathroom, washing and rubbish with recycling facilities.

Very quiet spot right on the beach.
Big kitchen which was clean. Showers are pretty good but have morning and afternoon season times. This place has water for your camper but they recommend you boil the water from kitchen taps prior to drinking . It’s probably Ok though.

Location, Location, Location!
I had a really great stay here. Yes the facilities are a little tired but the beach front location, perfect beach and fabulous swimming more than made up for it. The showers were great hot, free and untimed. (Don't be put off by the mention of cockroaches in an earlier review.) The only thing I missed was a grey water dump area.

Really beautiful views, I was there in November and it was almost empty, super clean and tidy and really decent facilities.
Not cheap but good quality

Beautiful beach with lots of interesting history.
Allocated camping spots which was great so you get enough space yourself - most spots had an ocean view. Facilities were fine, although the furniture in the table tennis room was falling apart and the showers were a bit run down. Other than that, enjoyed my stay!

Beautiful spot on the coast.
Basic amenities but that is reflected in the price. Cleanliness, there is no excuse for I'm afraid.

Very disappointed that there was no mention on any websites that this place was closes until December.
Even the sign on the main road did not indicate it was closed. Poor business planning.

A great location, we had the beach to ourselves.
$44 for a powered site for the two of us seemed steep but Victor was welcoming. Kitchen, laundry and toilets slightly dated but functional. Victor had to tow our camper off the pitch as the ground had become soaked overnight. I imagine that this area is packed in the summer

We were asked to leave at 10:30 which is the time of the checkout so I understand but the place was really empty et we weren’t using any facilities, just the little square of grass on which we were parked
The location is very lovely
BUT the prices changed and it’s now $25pp for unpowered site which seemed very expensive for the facilities that are quite basic
Also showers are closed in the afternoon which is inconvenient for a beach side camp
. Being nice never hurt (especially at $50 a night)

Every time I went for a shower at 7.30 in the morning they were full of cockroaches, so and and clumps of hair.
Toilets quite often ran out of toilet paper and hand towels. Shop wasn’t open at the times specified and in fact was hardly every open. Would not recommend

This place is getting most beautiful campsite ever.
We had a powered site for our camper-van with breathtaking ocean views on the beach. The facilities are clean and the hosts are very nice. This place is simple, but for beach lovers, it is a must! I highly recommend staying here to enjoy the ocean, views, and relaxation.

The location right by the beach is amazing.
Owners were friendly (they gave us fresh fish they'd just caught!). Unlimited free WiFi. Price - high season price is $18 per person for an unpowered site. Showers & toilets all need an urgent update. Kitchen didn't have any equipment for people to use. Some of the bins in the kitchen were really stinky.

What a beautiful spot!
Stopped on a tour of the East Cape mid February and ended up staying for 2 nights it was so beautiful. Facilities are good, if a little dated - this is a remote site! WiFi was free and price very reasonable. Parked up right next to the beach. Perfect.

Fantastic spot right on the beach.
However, facilities are very tired. A nice hot shower came to nothing when the water just trickled out. Barely enough to wet oneself. All facilities could do with a major refurbishment.
