What a beautiful place for an easy walk, enjoying birdsong, lush & fragrant bush, and antics of the kaka and takahe.
The fantails were especially friendly. We did not have a chance to spot any skinks, tuatara, or eels, nor kiwi, but a patient observer might have better luck. The facilities are immaculate. Though a bit pricey, the admission fee goes to a great cause.
What we did get to see was simply amazing. It would've been good to allow a good 2hrs to enjoy it all. As a side note- the toilets were in a terrible mess for both male and female.
Go on a calm day and you'll see more birds. We didn't see that many, but the place is only two years old. Might have more birds in a few years. A bit expensive, $15.
