This is a basic campsite in Central Otago. Camp beside the pleasant German Creek while exploring Oteake Conservation Park by 4WD, mountain bike or foot.
The trip over Danseys Pass is awesome, it connects North Otago to South Otago. It's a quiet, narrow and winding road that is surrounded by a few farms. It can be accessed via the Waitaki Valley and Naseby. This road is subject to high winds and snow falls at all times of the year and is therefore not recommended for campervans or caravans.
The easiest way to reach the campsite is from Nasby (a great place for mountain biking and curling) and can be found just 500m from the Danseys Pass Coach Inn - a great place for a snack should you so desire.
The Danseys Pass Campsite is closed. The access road to the conservation campsite is damaged and not passable to vehicles. We will update this message once repairs have been completed.
